Day 1: Brasov – Diham cottage – Poiana Marului (120 km, 80% off road)
After meeting you on Saturday evening (Day 0) with a welcome dinner and overnight included in a nice pension close to Brasov, will start in Day 1 the 4×4 adventure with a nice off road trip to Diham Cottage, having opportunity to see the Teeth of Drakula. On our way, we cross gorgeous landscapes with magnificent views over the Bucegi Mountains. After that, you will explore off road Poiana Marului area, a fairytale place with breathtaking views. Moreover, enjoy a coffee break in front of the amazing landscapes. Overnight in 3/4 * pension/hotel in Poiana Marului.

Day 2 Traditional Villages – Bran Castle – Fundatica – Vidraru Dam (180 km, 40% off road)
Drive to Zarnesti and take a breath of fresh mountain air while walking through Canyon of Zarnesti, the scenery of “Cold Mountain” movie. Further, you`ll travel off road through the rolling hills of Magura and Pestera authentic villages. After that, you`ll visit the famous Bran (Dracula’s) Castle, also known as the home of Dracula`s spirit. Will take lunch in amazing panoramic restaurant Amfiteatru Transilvania. While driving through stunning landscapes of the Bran Pass, reach the highest traditional village from Romania, Fundatica and will to get to Vidraru Dam, a huge construction made in 1966 by the communist regime. Overnight in 3/4 * pension/hotel , close by Vidraru Dam.

Day 3 Transfagarasan Road – Sadu – Voineasa (220 km, 25% off road)
In the morning we drive on Transfagarasan route while enjoying amazing views over Fagaras Mountains. The Top Gear team stated Transfagarasan road ”the best road in the world”. We stop at Balea Lake, a natural glacier lake at 2040 m. From the top of the ridge we will discover beautiful sceneries of the mountains surrounding us. Crossing the Fagaras Mountains into Transylvania, we will cross Sadu and after a nice off road will get to Voineasa. Overnight in 3/4 * pension/hotel , close by Voineasa.

Day 4 Voineasa – Latorita - Strategica – Transalpina - Pasul Urdele - Huluzu - Jiet (150 km, 60% off road)
After breakfast we start our drive to the highest road in Romania - Transalpina Road. This is the road on top of the Romanian Mountains, known as 'King's Road' or 'The Devil's Pathway, crossing the Parang Mountains from North to South. On the way we will drive along the ridge of mountains, cross the beautiful passes and enjoy breathtaking scenery. We will have a coffee break on the mountaintop admiring spectacular view of Vidra Lake. Driving further, we arrive in Huluzu with amazing view over Parang Mountains, an area where you`ll discover a pastoral world with its quaint settlements and calm lifestyle. Overnight in 3/4 * pension/hotel in Jiet area.

Day 5 Jiet – Bolii Cave – Oslea Mountains – Tulisa– Valea Jiuluii (120 km, 70% off road)
Today, you will visit beautiful cave "Pestera Bolii" and drive off road into amazing Oslea Mountains, lost in off the beaten tracks with spectacular view over mountains. Will change the area to get in Tulisa Mountains and visit a traditional and authentic shepherd house, tasting cheese and polenta. Will finish the 4×4 adventures for today with overnight in 3/4 * pension/hotel , close by Balea de Brazi - Valea Jiului area.

Day 6: Valea de Brazi – Fundatura Ponorului - Poiana Omului - Sarmizegetusa Regia - Hunedoara/Deva (160 km, 80% off road)
Today will follow the tracks of people from Dacia, into unique National Park Grădiștea Muncelului – Cioclovina. Start the day by exploring the magnificent Fundatura Ponorului translated as The end of Ponor or "God's Palm", as this area is also known, is the place where time seems to have frozen. Then, you`ll visit Poiana Omului from Sureanu Mountains, where the remains of the most famous Dacian fortresses are located, impress their guests not only through the numerous archaeological sites that litter them, but also through some spectacular places Will end the trip visiting the second capital of the Dacian kingdom, as historians say, Sarmizegetusa Regia ( the royal one), that is the largest known settlement in Dacia.
From here our tour will end and you will drive close to Hunedoara. In the next morning will hit the highway getting back home to your country.

8 of us in 4 – 4WD were led by our guide, Adi in his own 4-WD on a 15-day trip of Romania. We started from Bucharest to the Danube Delta to cities, towns and villages in Slanic Moldova and Transylvania and back to Bucharest. We drove through unspoilt n amazing sceneries. Some drives were rugged and very challenging but the views that greeted us at the end were stunning and well-worth the effort. We were even able to have a picnic lunch and coffee breaks, complete with table and chairs, freshly brewed coffee n food among those awesome surroundings. Without the 4-WD, we would have missed them all. 4×4 Tours provided impeccable service. Marius and Adi personally provided transfers from and to the airport – and we were all on different flights – one even arriving at 2am! Adi took very good care of the group acceding to our requests as much as he cld. It was indeed a thoroughly enjoyable n memorable trip. Well planned and executed. We would highly recommend 4×4 Tours for an out-of-the ordinary tour of Romania.

“We love it when we come across a business that is just managed right and this one certainly qualifies. Right from the planning stage Marius meticulously planned our unguided 4wd camping/luxury experience throughout Romania. He ensured we were provided with high quality camping equipment, something we found was lacking in some of our other off road experiences in other countries and we wanted for nothing in what he provided. He tailored our experience to be flexible en route so we could linger in a region that we liked or sleep in and cut out a couple of spots. Marius also provided close phone support while we were on our journey even organizing a wifi router to help with our mapping and research. We travelled as 2 couples and found 2 people per car with camping gear and your own supplies are ideal for this type of adventure.
Romania in itself is a beautiful country; the people are kind and scenery spectacular. Being Australian we are used to good wines but must say that Romanian wines are of such high quality you could just do a tour of the wine regions only and be satisfied. Camping is interesting, as you have to cautiously pick your places because of the high numbers of bears in the region but there are always top quality or budget accommodation options not too far away if you want to play it safe. We found that some camping spots were not as remote as we are used to in Australia so we opted to eat and drink by the fire down by the river and then purchase a room each in a Pension (hotel) for about 40 AUD. Oh and stay away from Bran castle, it’s a tourist trap.
I would recommend this business to anyone who is looking for a different way to explore this amazing, yet undiscovered region of Europe. Marius well exceeded all our expectations and we commend him on a great operation and wish him all the best in helping others explore Romania. Well done mate!”

Let me begin bottom line – MARVELOUS We traveled with 4X4-tours, with wonderful Marius. We have been 10 persons adults grownups and a child. It had been 8 days tour in April 2017. Marius had picked us up from the airport to the hotel at midnight. The day after, we started the off-road tour. Everything along the tour was excellent: Places we had been, views we had seen, roads we had gone through, guides, hotels accommodation, restaurants, and surprises… Marius successfully made every effort, above and beyond, to make the tour pleasant. He was attentive to our wishes. He sensed our feelings even we didn’t noticed he does. He didn’t leave us, and helped solving problems for us, though the tour is actually over. We had been in Brasov area, Sibiu, Apuseni Mountains, Cluj, Sighsoara, and Bucharest. We made our way self driving off-road routes through amazing views. None of us will ever forget this vacation. Highly recommended. all the best
